The Ministry of Information and technology is in talks with education stakeholders before making a mega announcement on rolling out details of the free primary laptops.
''Talks are at an advanced stage with the education ministry, teachers and parents union', says Cabinet Secretary for Information and Communication Fred Matiang'i.
During the reading of the budget CS for Finance Henry Rotich announced that sh.17bn had been aside to faciltate the laptops program.
Matiangi was speaking at the launch of the 'Taifa Laptop' which was designed in Kenya and the CS says this will provide world class solutions to create employment opportunities in Kenya.
